do you know?

by Maria Francesca

do you know I don't think of your name when I wake up
any more than I think of my own?

do you know it was just supposed to be
a quick lunch date?

do you know you've snuck into the corners of my life
and slid into my heart
all sneaky and quiet
like a spy
sneaking into the enemy camp
but armed with a sunflower and electronic words?

do you know you calm me like a drug?

do you know you that
when I let myself think about it
you scare the hell out of me?

do you know I would walk across the world
for the way you look at me?
for the sound of your voice saying my name?
calling me baby?

for your breath in my ear?

do you know I love you?

Nicely worded reminder that one never knows when love will bite them squarely on the nose. I especially like this line/word combination: but armed with a sunflower and electronic words?

this is a wonderful piece, and indeed, what chris said, you never can know when love is going sneak up on you armed with sunflowers or otherwise.
