Yesterday’s Zinfandel

by Linda Fuller

A bitter claret
decanted effortlessly –
forgetfulness guaranteed.
Hackneyed infidelity,
jaded kisses, lover’s manacles –
no ovoid pills quicken remembrance
since the ultimate violation:
whitewashed X-ray.

Powerful stuff. I get this lingering sense of cloying sweetness, tempered nicely by that particularly harsh final x-ray image. Great!

Oh damn...this is wonderful...and I now realize I will likely fail on an epic level in my own attempt!!

A very nice write lady. But I would like to think that all life's experiences 'the good, the bad, and the ugly' are equally important for us to grasp and take in. Again a good write.

Ok, this was so good, I didn't realize it's form - clever, you are.... love the implied "z" and got a kick out of the "ovoid". Thanks!

A fine write Linda Fuller in for me a difficult form. Thank you.
