deep secret by Kristina Woodhillput your face close to mine, child,
this cool space we share
is a deep secret;
you have to want this -
like the comfortable worm
the sightless salamander
the occasional flap
of precise leathery wings
this is a place where
one arm drips gracefully down
meeting its mate reaching up,
each lazily writing from a different millennium,
their own creation stories
inevitably solidifying,
unconfused by light
or word,
needing
no re-write
no re-interpretation

Posted by Charlie Morgan on 06/22/10 at 08:29 PM ...kristina, what non-negotiable deal; horsehead in ones bed or not this is sweet, gentle description of an AWE-ful experience...delightful wording, i see it move, undulate as only stoney, limeys surfaces are wont to do...and you caught during a dos si do. |
Posted by George Hoerner on 06/22/10 at 08:42 PM Great write Kristina. I had to look up the caves as I have never heard of them before. Certainly mother nature writes far more slowly than we and so much more accurately and with so much more control than we have. Again great write. |

is a fantastic interpretation of their solidified state. Like George, I'd never heard of them and had to look them up, too. You did with your words a wonderful justice to the images I found. |
Posted by Joan Serratelli on 06/23/10 at 08:09 PM As usual, well written. You write with a passion that most people lack. I read it over and over and got alot out of it. Thank You! |

Posted by Therese Elaine on 06/25/10 at 12:20 AM This cool, dark, wet tang of primordial and primitive and mythical implications, is absolutely one of your best...it conjures up the most fantastical images and sensory recall for me!! |
