Ebony Eyes; Dissecting her Soul

by Wendy Sparling

Ebony eyes, the
Serum of her soul,
An onyx icon of
Awareness or
Pools of aloofness,
Transfixed on
Market Tuesday,
Today's destination?

In those ebony eyes
I see determination,
Prosperity and love,
And perhaps alertness,
And the hope of insight
To consol your soul
As you step aside
Pondering her face.

Sometimes I am greatly influenced by people's eyes. They are said to be the window of the soul but I think it goes further than that. Eyes can communicate better than the mouth most of the time. Excellent words and inmagery!

Yes, I do recall the painting, and a worthy poem to compliment it. Big eyes that definitely stand out.
