18 Days Later

by Gavin M Roy

Have I grieved?
I've not cried out

Maybe felt the dam bulge
yet it quells the storm

Quiet introspection, memories
hint to simmering pain

Can't grief be dignified and non-disruptive?
I thought of you again today.

I didn't let it get the best of me.

Good write Gavin and of course big men don't cry or ask for directions do they?

Grief is a lonely path except when shared. Trust your sharing has brought some consolation. And I found it helped to cry in my own experience of grief.
