Windows:

by Vrinda Agrawal

we look through
but never forget
beyond the glass
lies only a fall

These are tall buildings

and
we watch the light move
unblinking
till the shadows swallow space

we accept the darkness
the same as we accept light
there is nothing to give up

we miss what we can no longer feel
it was once in us
now it is something we can only see

against the wind
we do not fight, we bend
let it carry our weight
so that the words do not bear the burden

the clouds
when the eyes see
the hands can almost feel
but then we are told
clouds are just drops of water

and when it rains
these drops race to reach the ground

though we yearn to be clean
that is what we need
it will always be the other side.

A fascinating view of the world from a window's perspective.
