Orange

by George Hoerner

in orange swim suit
swinging his shovel
at nearly two
he digs into the sand
searching for twenty

paying attention only
to sand – sea – mother
he will ignore
the bikini clad bodies
until as a teen
the hormones call

That orange stands out and I can see the little guy digging - what focus! Thank you.
