The Journey

by Brian Francis

I’ve walked down so many roads
Since growing up and leaving home
Following the pathways of my life
Sunshine skies have shined on me
Rain has fallen interminably
rainbows have arched across my skies

I had walked alone so long it seems
That loneliness belonged to me
fate had somehow sealed my life
But when you reached across the night
To take my hand and grasp it tight
My heart your slave, bound forever more

The heat of love has warmed my soul
Healed my wounds and made me whole
Giving me a purpose too my life
though at times a cold wind has blown
my heart assured has always known
that you would always be there by my side

so take my hand and sit with me
lets wait for dawn and share the light
watch the sun chase away the night
the way your love
has brightened up my soul
lets roll in hay and pass the time
in perfect rhythm with perfect rhyme
our shared embrace
entwining becoming one

Beautifully stated. There's a wonderful, quiet nature to this that's maintained so well throughout.

Nothing forced here - just warm and solid like two holding hands. Thank you.
