Barnyard DIY by Kristina Woodhilltwo pastures down
heavy kicks batter
a steel water tank;
in the afternoon
a quaint practice,
a Barnum & Bailey draw;
count my fingers;
paw the ground for oats;
magic those city folk!
at 2:15 a. m.
a month or so later
my dreams still hear knocking
as noisy door opens ear
wide enough to surmise
this counting Clyde
must be
must be!
some mathematical
genius
an equine Einstein
bent on finding
THE Button,
pushed on demand,
increasing
bran mass
parsed with
speed of hay bale
split and dropped
in cosmic
conjunction with
closest faucet
turning on,
filling water tank,
bubbles subsiding
at the precise
moment
mastication
requires
hydration;
John Muir
machinations
intensely in want
of a thumb

Posted by George Hoerner on 04/07/10 at 12:29 AM Amimals can learn almost anything taught simply. Just praise one way or another and like people they will follow the orders even as the saying goes "intp fire and brimstore". I enjoyed the write lady. |
Posted by Ken Harnisch on 04/07/10 at 04:17 PM interesting write...loaded with "horse sense," I'd say..:0 and i love the line: "John Muir machinations intensely in want/ of a thumb" |
