Catharsis

by Elizabeth Hoadley

Eye's you could fall into
squished by the cheeks
you could hold onto
and a smile you cannot
hide from

it is

she,
pinches me
everyday
I should lay
in pain

she,
grabs my wondering
and innocently
distracted mind
and puts direction
in every step

it takes

she,
casts a shadow
over my drought,
pouring her
beauty on my
barren lands

she is

me,
when she
waters my wounds
and puts out the
flames I have casted
upon myself

she,
is me without the
doubt and hostility
that bruises
all I see

She pushing
Me pulling
the balance of the
world

together,
is better
than I could've
ever
hoped it to be

such a lovely ode. you describe so well, the duality, the dilemma which dwells in all of us, who are both savior to ourselves as well as sinners.
