when a poem speaks the truth by Jared FladelandThis is a poem,
crinkled up and left for dead
in the bottom of the waste basket.
As it sits there though,
the paper begins to unfold,
it begins to breathe,
and before i know it,
the light catches the white paper
just so
that it appears to glow.
i take a look at the poem again,
take a deep inhalation
and realize the poem is telling me
that it is the truth,
and when that happens,
you can only pull it out of the trash
and let the air out
in a giant sigh of misery. 03/29/2010 Posted on 03/30/2010 Copyright © 2026 Jared Fladeland
