Someone should steal your mouth from your face...

by Becca Kinser

044

Someone should steal your mouth from your face. [You never use it for anything good.]

I’ve been throwing my arms up at you lately like
white flags and bad habits.

Hitting back when you hit and raising my voice.

(And how is it that you’re so surprised that I’m not gunning you down, but changing the locks so that you can’t come back?)

If you knew where I’ve been sleeping,
You’d kill me yourself.

Author's Note: Scribbled on a napkin while waiting tables? Photo is mine, as usual.
