Bored Out Of My Mind by Joan SerratelliSitting here,
writing a poem
Could care less
what's on the tube
Later, you'll tell me
that ALL I ever do
is watch TV
I HATE TV
I would shut it off
IF I could find
the remote
It's crappy outside
I'm in a cold sweat
I would smoke a cigarette
(if someone would teach
me how)
I feel so alone
I have no money
and no place
to go
So here I sit;
ALONE
...BORED
Out Of My Mind

Author's Note: i know it's bad, but....

Posted by Julie Adams on 03/14/10 at 07:57 PM there is so much soul in this piece, such flesh on the bone, such rawness to the emotion, the smoking line a fav, since the subject doesn't smoke, it speaks volumes...kudos poet, this isn't bad, though the emotional toll might feel so...hugs, jewels |

We're all there with you, believe me. |
Posted by Kristina Woodhill on 03/15/10 at 03:31 PM Yes, TV, the soul sucking soundbite! I can feel the boredom here. |
Posted by Gregory O'Neill on 03/15/10 at 06:56 PM ...but it's such a sweet cesspool, how could you be bored??? Honestly, this is pure truth if all might be as transparent. Good write. Thanks. |
