love poem for an Aquarian

by Sarah George

water-bearer carry me
let me fill your vessel
i will pour myself
into any cistern or flask you may hold

water-bearer carry me
be the wide open sky
and i will be the fluffy white clouds
billowing across your expanse of blue

water-bearer carry me
be the silent stillness of a starry night and i will lay quietly
below you
reflecting your brilliance
on my gently moving surface

water-bearer carry me
be the howling wind - sweep over fertile fields, barren tundras
and i will be the lashing rains
that you bring to earth below

be the biting cold and
i will freeze where i lay
waiting only for your warmth to return
and crack me open again.

water-bearer carry me
hold me and hem me into whatever forms you desire
my wild ebbs and flows seek to be contained
by your gentle hands, your gentle breath -
water-bearer, carry me.
