my name feels safe upon your lips

by Melissa Arel

my name feels safe
upon your lips
sheltered between
your teeth and tongue
it rests comfortably
in your harbored mouth
where honesty and appetite
dwell beside it.

Beautiful! Love the metaphor.

hmmm...very few people or poets can make the simple utterance of a name an act of sensuality. You did here, Mel....and I hope whoever keeps your name that safe knows how lucky they are.

Always, always, the mouth must keep silent to hear hearts speak...this is a mosel to savor. Thanks.
