i think

by Emily Tong

i want to sleep for days or
weeks and wake up
learning myself in a field - a
blanket spread on the tallest
sloping place so we can see every-
where, blow our dandelions and
think innocent thoughts,
roll down the grassy length
laughing quietly
and letting completely go.
i want to write poetry in
the sleepy sunshine
and look into someone's eyes until
i can't see.

This is a lovely piece Emily. I believe that is why we love the first snow. It makes us feel innocent again even if just for a moment. It gets lost so early and easily these days. Very nice write lady.

there's a hint of Wordsworth and whimsy both in this poem which makes it as fresh as the longed for breath of spring. And after this winter, do we all need that! I love this write, Emily

this piece is so dreamy, I can feel the rolling hills beneath me as I read it...I love the scenic imagery, how the speaker moves through the scene u set...I am not sure, just a thought but I think it might be stronger without the classroom reference, it feels a little foreign to the rest of the piece, but could be just me...every other sloping, carefree moment enraptures me and I am so happy to have read it...an instant fav for me, kudos poet, hope u don't find offense in any of my comment, none meant! Peace, jewels xxx
