I go to places to say where I've been by Emily TongI go to places to say where I’ve been,
blunder the answers to stories and dreams.
It seems where I start, is right where I end –
an ending confused, like untethered laces
on shoes with written-on, falling out seams
I go to places to say where I’ve been.
on finding me here, in these strange places
I circle again, myself to redeem:
It seems where I start, is right where I end.
cast my guarded self to the faces
that haunt and question all that I seem;
for I go to places to say where I’ve been
and puncture the truth in all of the phrases
and divide the soul, the people, the dream.
It seems where I start, is right where I end.
redemption comes, fills all the spaces –
my heart, your heart, and their hearts now teem.
I go places to say where I’ve been;
It seems where I start, is right where I end.

Posted by V. Blake on 02/05/10 at 06:09 AM I am woefully ignorant of all poetic form, so I can hardly vouch for how well you accomplished whatever your goal was, but regardless, I can say that I really enjoyed reading what you have here. :) |
