Drunkenness

by Oliver Drewman

Twelve brave soldiers standing here
Twelve brave soldiers gather near
One by one they disappear
Into the void

One by one they're taken down
One by one they're quickly downed
One by one they disappear
Into the void

Surely they will quickly drown
Surely they'll erase the frown
Surely they will disappear
Into the void

Twelve brave soldiers are no more
Twelve brave soldiers is the score
Surely they did disappear
One by one

I had a flashback to the first time I stepped into a sports bar here in Chicago on game night...you're right though-they do manage some of the most amazing things!

This I love! Get me some soldiers immediately!

I suppose bars can function as battlefields in their own way, the difference being, once you exit these, sobriety is not far behind.
