There's Always Next Year

by V. Blake

personally, my love,
i blame Hallmark.
if I had spent even one Valentines Day
with my head in a book
instead of a greeting card,
i don't think we'd find ourselves
in this little predicament.

i mean, how was i to know
that they could get away
with being so grossly inaccurate
for all these years?

so baby, I'm sorry,
but i'm a little embarrassed to admit
that i was wrong to tell my friends
you were as heartless as my last girl.

apparently i was just confused
about the shape i should have found
after i drained the final drops
of blood out from your corpse.

It's perfectly grim and I love it. Invest in tarps -they're live savers!!!

Funny; alot of MEN blame Hallmark. Valentine's Day is a myth. Well done!

"apparently i was just confused about what i should have found after i drained the final drops of blood out from your corpse. " Oh, ouch, ouch, ouch..... Loved this.
