Tired by Joan SerratelliI'm tired
of being told
that you want me
when it's oh so
obvious
that you don't
I'm tired
of being told
that you love me
when the love
is not felt
I'm tired
of asking
for things
that I get only
on your terms;
never mine
You tell me
how much
you love me
and you wonder
why I don't believe you
I'm sorry
I'm not who
you want
I'm sorry
...I'm only me

| Posted by Therese Elaine on 01/28/10 at 11:49 PM Joe's right -it's a pared down gut punch, no less powerful for the quickness of the blow...nicely done Joan!! |

"I'm tired
of asking
for things
that I get only
on your terms;
never mine"
These lines here illustrate just that.

Nice compression in this one, Joan. |
