Crawling To the Sky

by Christopher Shin

The birds chase
the endless gray.
And I faithfully
glare into the
west.

I feel that
even though
I struggle out
each day.

I find that
nothing seems
to come to
a conclusion.

I hide amongst
the glasses and
cemented walls.

Only to see
that I crave
to be out amongst
the sky.

I think the birds have it all. That middle stanza seems to be a common human symptom. I liked pondering this.

There's definitely a trapped feeling here, as if a door opening would let loose a torrent of passion and freedom. For now, you're trapped in a world of gray. Great write!
