The Miles

by V. Blake

it amazes me;
the miles
of tight shirts,
short skirts,
high heels,
and hell holes
a girl can brave
without noticing
that every time
she softly bites
her lower lip
in absent-minded
remoteness,

a heart
dissolves
in the distance.

Simple.
Evocative.
Effective.
Thanks!

Direct and nothing less than completely effective. I love it.

I love the simplicity in this. You didn't gaudy this up with excessive verbosity to describe the most wonderful basic nature of man: attraction.Very well done, sir. :)

What an astute and empathetic male observer! How many times I have walked downtown or through a restaurant window observed them walking by - too much focus on the legs - and never thought about the pain endured in simply walking. Your poem should be posted on restaurant windows with a sign above it: Ladies read this.

I want to hear more, but enough has been said. That's what perfection is I guess! :)
