Ol' Sol is Drunk by Kristina Woodhillol' sol is drunk
wandering off south
like a beggar
with his one good eye
peering after
the distant sway
of a merchant's
camel,
pulled down under
like loosely girded
saddlebags
laden with heavy
wares he just has
to sample;
a boomerang
gad-about,
tipsy on leisurely
overland travel,
oblivious to icy stares
he leaves behind;
a one-eyed pirate,
dripping hot pressed
diamonds
through a coal black
duffel with a hole
in one side

Posted by George Hoerner on 01/14/10 at 06:33 PM Cute write lady. It reminds me of somebody that I can't quite recall. Maybe my days in England hitch hiking back to the base after pubs closed at 10pm. |
Posted by V. Blake on 01/15/10 at 12:16 AM There is some truly original and spectacular wordplay here. Definitely a big fan of this one, Kristina. |
