Britney Over Rice by Ken HarnischYou had a plate-glass smile
And not much more. Well, so be it;
Sometimes profundity is tiresome
When lust is involved.
Such parsing between intellect and
Need allows me
To think Britney Spears can be delicious
Served over rice
I know it bends the curve
On my presumed powers of observation
And selection. Alas, discernment
Is often the alibi of the recluse
They say there’s miracles out
Beyond the door. Every now and again,
Mine wear skirts and leave
No indelible marks on the soul

Posted by V. Blake on 01/12/10 at 05:24 PM Ken, you never fail to pick up on everything my jaded little mind thoughtlessly ignores. That last stanza is just utterly brilliant. |
Posted by Melissa Arel on 01/12/10 at 07:40 PM What is it with men and Britney Spears? I think she's gross. |
Posted by Gabriel Ricard on 01/12/10 at 09:11 PM Heh. Indeed, indeed. Great wordplay and form throughout. |
