About-Face

by Rachel Bennett

Like a vampire pitching a tent,
I pause, stake in hand -
My savior is my nemesis.
I, frothy-jawed mad dog,
Want water.

Your first line threw me for a loop at first, and I was wondering what would possibly make you choose such a random and ridiculous image... and then "stake in hand" came, and "About-Face" just seemed like a perfect title all of a sudden. That was damn clever, kiddo.

I agree with Vince :) This poemuary is looking to be a great idea, as you keep churning out quality stuff!

Very nice! Though its very short, I had to read it a couple of times to get the "hang" of it, but once I was able to mildly digest your piece, I feel in love with the imagery and the idea. Wonderfully written :)

This left the funniest imagery in my head. I can see the Vampire...

Excellent and amazingly clever in such a short number of lines.
