About-Face by Rachel BennettLike a vampire pitching a tent,
I pause, stake in hand -
My savior is my nemesis.
I, frothy-jawed mad dog,
Want water. 01/05/2010 Author's Note: Poemuary #5.
One. Two. Three, four, five.
Everybody in the car, so come on - let's ride.

Posted by V. Blake on 01/06/10 at 02:20 AM Your first line threw me for a loop at first, and I was wondering what would possibly make you choose such a random and ridiculous image... and then "stake in hand" came, and "About-Face" just seemed like a perfect title all of a sudden. That was damn clever, kiddo. |

Posted by Olivia Martin on 01/06/10 at 11:47 AM Very nice! Though its very short, I had to read it a couple of times to get the "hang" of it, but once I was able to mildly digest your piece, I feel in love with the imagery and the idea. Wonderfully written :) |
