Snowblind

by V. Blake

bolstered by the cavalry of a tailwind,
the nation of snow on my roof
is executing a series of maneuvers
which can best be described
as an act of guerrilla warfare.

and though not for lack of trying,
i cannot seem to understand
the animosity it appears to feel
for the nation of snow in my yard.

Like nations bordering on each other, roofs and yards do not always get along. They each speak a different language and it seems never to be the language of peace. Good write sir.

Wish I'd said it,but e.e. cummings did: "The snow doesn't give a soft white damn whom it touches." Seems you are near a similar wavelength. Thanks.

...cool: cavalry, tailwind, nation of snow, wait. the whole, entire pome[sic] is stupendous...don't you hate it when peeps say you write like...yada yada...well, you write like a bunch of folks and here you write like garth hill and gabriel ricard...and i've seen garth's writing for 20 years, gabes probably only 4...but boy you good, unkay? you can whip those metaphors like Lash LaRue can snap a bull whip.

I considered writing about snow yesterday too - you did better than I would have, anyway. Nice work!

I like this extended, exaggerated description of potential energy. I love the attitude exhibited in much of your work, Charlie. Thanks for sharing, and good luck on your challenge this month!

So clever these two nations. Your observations are fresh, thoughtful, and compelling. Thank you.

That last comment by Noe made me laugh. But you do continue to dominate the top rated effortlessly as you do well here. I like the imagery you used here. Creatively put most definitely.
