Droped the Dream by Keith D Allison
The darkest the poet's
seen a love
I will never know
though I have sailed the seven seas
cast my eyes on wonders
beyond belief
in the midst of the morning
my heart shall never know
the wonder of
Annabel Lee
Though I had a quest
to be a poet one day
how can one write the song
for the desert wind
has forever blown
drying the bones
that love will never be
dark skies
never born
never breathe

Posted by Glenn Currier on 01/02/10 at 05:17 AM Ah! yes, EAP - my early favorite poet. But your poem shows strikes me as having an uncommon common touch that is not pretentious but invites us into the web of your imagination and creativity. Thanks, Keith. |
