who, whaaa, where?

by Charlie Morgan

many roads lead to Zanzibar;
i told my friend; new adventures.
well, her dad will know where
to put the pin on the world map.

the evening, now, through dancing all night,
sat the next one out. wait til tonight. settled.
her fringed petticoats puffily lay across
the tops of buildings; held them down all day.

like the blind man who saw people
as trees walking, i too saw them;
each leaf vein-filled with the sap
of human problems. still, we walk.

all are in first place.
hurriedly in a hurry.
chasing a dream
inside a dream.

"her fringed petticoats puffily lay across / the tops of buildings; held them down all day." I loved these lines--definitely unique and fun imagery. Well-done, Charlie. :)

Good write Charlie and it seems new countries come and go at least every month. There is no longer a place to stick the pin for mine. But that's OK i'll just move on and find a place to put this pin, maybe even sitting next to you.

Charlie, sometimes I wish I had your eyes, but then they wouldn't be mine of course. Visiting your verse is like looking at the world with new eyes, always fresh, vanquishing routine and rules, headed for the sky. What you notice... what you see in your peripheral wonder-filled vision is ALWAYS a delight to view here. Thanks fingering it onto these pages. Christmas gifts are shadows in the light of yours.
