Signs

by George Hoerner

her mirth
hiding just
behind the
corners of
her mouth
her gaiety
right next
to her pupils
her laugh
just waiting
to spring
through her
voice
and then
there are
the other
feelings
kept hidden
except for
the time
the pout
softly placed
under her
bottom lip
shows ever
so slightly
and when
her eyes
show signs
of sadness
as she lets
life’s daily
drudgery seep
into her
thoughts

nicely desribed, George.....some read faces better than they read words....you are a master at both. I enjoyed this-thanks for sharing. :)

...signs, signs, everywhere signs...blocking the scenery, blocking my mind...george, this is so stylistic, so ooomphy, you cover the board on your keen perceptions, rather the poet who wrote this did...the poet kept me wonderfully taut as i kept [the/that lady--in mymind] how the poet was describing her...you started out as george then became the poet after the second line, like you always do. keen write.

George; its a good sign for us when the pen with which you are at the ready to unleash the art in your soul is in your hands.
