Thanksgiving Eve

by Maude Curtis

The turkey is stuffed ready to cook in the morn,
The pies are all baked, pumpkin, pecan too.
The green beans are done, also creamed corn
They're ready to add a pound or two.

Cranberry sauce and Momma's sweet tators
Seven layer salad is Aunt Jen's thing,
we'll stuff ourselves and worry 'bout it later.
guys'll watch football while the girls are napping.

So enjoy the family and day while you can,
for tomorrow we'll hit the malls early,
to find the perfect gift for your man
in a chaotic pre-Christmas hurly burly.

Wishing you health, happiness and joy
and all the turkey you dare to consume.
May your Thankgiving be "The real McCoy
and your pants leave you with some breathing room.
