Bright Lights on Dull nights

by Shannon McEwen

Blue eyes twinkle
As Franken toddler
Walks stiffly

Then runs swiftly
Lumbers up to sit
And watch

The twinkling lights
In an otherwise dark room
Before flipping over

And lunging down
To get a closer look
Contagious giggles erupt

Spread over my heart
A soothing balm
To a damaged psyche

It is wonderful how the eyes of a toddler can change our perspective, oh the laughter that can melt a heart. Nice work and I love your bio. smh

I believe children can brighten almost any room with curiosity and openness. Nice write lady.

Two words that capture this father of two now-grown kids, "Franken toddler". Excellent imagery.
