Everybody Has A Story

by Clara Mae Gregory

everybody has a story
some don't like to tell
some are seeking fame and glory
some think their life is hell

even the wise may criticize
what,they,themselves do lack
and some will seem to sympathize
in your gray days turning black

but viscious is the vanity
which wars with its self worth
and loses to world's insanity
while questioning life and birth

some seek love to fill the void
that lonely hearts request
afraid to lose and paranoid
forever wounded by their quest

everybody has a story
some don't like to tell
some just seek fame and glory
some heal and finally get well

Good write lady. Some of us are driven by vanity, others by power and money. It seems very few are truely selfless.

How we do search for ways of escaping the challenge of healing. When I think about stories I wonder how many I have told that were designed to deflect another's vision from my own infirmity. And, of course, I also know how telling my story is exactly the medicine I needed (and perhaps other need as well) to heal. Thanks, M.
