Nov. 14 - In which the Higgs Boson is used as a metaphor by Jason WardellNov. 14 - In which the Higgs Boson is used as a careless metaphor for love
It makes something palpable
out of my nervous energy
giving mass to the masses
weight to the weightless.
They say it can traverse time
to stop its own observation
leaving only quantum poets
callous enough to believe.
Either way,
it should exist.
I think it exists.
I hope it exists.

Posted by Elizabeth Jill on 11/18/09 at 11:42 PM I'm right with you here. And will come back later to see if we still are.
...unless perhaps this already just now happened. |

Posted by Tony Whitaker on 11/19/09 at 08:01 AM Great write on one of my favorite subjects - the quantum world of physics! Living here in Switzerland, we are all awaiting the start up of the Large Hadron Collider at CERN any day now. The question is, will Fermilabs beat them to finding the Higgs? |
