Point of View...different by Sandy M. HumphreyWere I to ask you
With the impartiality
Of someone you had just met
Instead of someone you have
Been there and done that with
Would your answer come from
Someplace less mundane or pained
Could you look at me with softer eyes
And answer with less of a sigh
To which I can only comprehend
As boredom or annoyance
Could you see the light in my eyes
When I smiled at you if not viewed
Through your own jahari window
Of perceived guilt or shame
For I do not wish to keep score
Only to practice living in today
So if we can cherish the tender moments
And learn from the trials along the way
Then we know the journey has not been
Easy but well worth the experience
Of having taken the road thus far together

Posted by Glenn Currier on 11/11/09 at 03:48 AM The last part of that first stanza pulled at my heart strings. But the turn to faithfulness in relationship toward the end softened and then poured into my soul. This is a jewel. Thanks for sharing this and the gift within from whence it came. |
