why didn't i know by Charlie Morganthat part of me that sighs;
and too the part that whines,
are all parts of me. cotton
seed oil on a still pond.
i only want to own some parts;
what is it i do with the others?
i can walk a straight line, but
a meandering spirit tosses me;
i spin, and veer away daring
all to find me, catch me.
a Roman vomitorian, is life;
gorge, fill to your sated.
city limits to another world;
population: all who lived before.
a pock-marked landside, green
upturned for growth of futures.
and me laboring under falsities;
as the world smiles with no teeth. 11/09/2009 Posted on 11/09/2009 Copyright © 2026 Charlie Morgan

| Posted by Glenn Currier on 11/11/09 at 02:19 AM That third verse perfectly captures so much of the Charlie I know. The first half was easy to catch, but then you go macro on me and remind me of the visionary in you... a character trait I have seen in you since I first observed you with your long hair and jaunty walk. That is seen in the words I especially like: "green upturned for growth of futures." Thanks for another beaut, Chaz. I think Joe is right: you are getting better and better. |
