i live through him by Charlie Morganthose eyes, closed tight, hiding
his brown pupils as they see wonders
of his sleepy-time world; no trespassing.
40 pounds of energy has worn down;
leaves the world of The Letter Factory;
bad guys still lurking in hiding.
soon he'll awake and the bad-guy chasing
may resume, unless the wonderment of wake
causes his world to need dump trucks.
so simple; so lovely. so of essence.
sleep, eat, grow; all at once, daily.
dividing my attention: T.V. and Kai.
my eyes water as i miss him already;
he's living his life without PaPaw;
i'll be asleep with Jesus in the future.
carry me like a dromedary does water;
hold me in your thoughts, dreams, make
me real by your devotion to a good life.
as all others: hurt me but don't hate me. 11/02/2009 Posted on 11/02/2009 Copyright © 2026 Charlie Morgan

| Posted by Joe David on 11/03/09 at 05:17 PM hey man, i'm right there. wonder of wonders. aint that the truth. we had our week before last for his fall break. who knew that kindergardeners had a fall break? that last stanza before the last line just blew me away. there is no part of it i didn't like. let's hope that sleeping with Jesus part is in the distant future.
love and peace to you, one who is already blessed with a 40 pounds of energy. |
