Strong Pillows by Joe CramerMy bed holds me like a lover,
Cool and soft in its embrace.
Wrapping in cotton sheets,
Strong pillows all about me.
And yet, I wake,
Arise reluctantly
Dusting cobwebs
And scarcely remembered dreams
That I share with few, no one.
My bed calls me
To places I dare not ask
Where they are, or who they are with.
Strong pillows wrap my head
Like this lovers embrace.
These dreams I hold so dear
The day does not erase. 10/26/2009 Author's Note: ... to days in bed.....

| Posted by Glenn Currier on 10/30/09 at 07:38 PM I like this poem and its softness and openness to letting go and enjoying one of the sweet pleasures of life. The altogether brilliant lines are: "My bed calls me /To places I dare not ask / Where they are, or who they are with" Thanks for the moment. |
