object of our desire

by Kristina Woodhill

our moon

who art in heaven
(we)hallowed by thy fame

our probes we send
our wills contend

as earthlings
we lay claim

give us thy dust
explode, we must
tho we've not been invited

our trespass
we will soon confess
thy dark side soon indicted

for thine is now the royal mine
sides shining as in shadow

thy surface knows our power
thy face pocks newly glower
our rockets' red glares shower

ah men
ah men
amen

We dig and we pry into the very existence of nature and all she does is give us the sun, the moon, and the wind in return. We will never truly understand.

You rock with moon rocks, Lunar power to your pen. smh

The moon cannot help but fill our horn, beckoning us to blow, sound it's call, its wonder, we can't leave it alone. Nicely done! Thanks.

cute twist. you're quite the witty gal and you know your nature. you put little ideas together like this...mixing things biblical and natural, making it pretty and running away with it. rhyming and doing whatever you want, being poetic. that's you.
