Cider asides ;-)

by A. Paige White

         Cpider Recipes

for the boo treats at the door
oh, that? It's knot a noose!
Didn't you know when you knocked
for the trick from mother goose
and a steaming mug of cpider
the scentamen and cloven      poof          simmerin'
in that cauldren of wicked brew
shadowing her witchin' kitchen
is the treat of a trick
you came knocking for?

           Ingredients:

The biggest bottle of cpider your budget will afford,
One bag of red hots
Simmer Cpider on stove or in crock pot
Add red hots
find a seat in your favorite knotting noose chair
Smile when fists filled with magical mugs appear
when the fragrance has added a crazed look in the eyes
and thirst in the reaching fists you love most
beg a taste

Author's Note:
Recipe inspired by Jadi's Cpider request on the forum
Ingredients inspired by Aunt Marlon and Uncle Johnny
Resting in Peace
gone from the here and now
but remembered with love

as Trickster and Jokester extraordinaire
Just for a background setting, Aunt Marlon was born with a
degenerative eye disease, so though she had a little sight
for a few years, by her teen years she had gone blind
and had to have one eye surgically removed due to the
pain which required a prosthetic. Not one to feel sorry for herself, this
prosthetic eye was used to give many heart attacks followed always by tears of laughter. My favorite memory
and my first experience with the above
prosthetic, is playing spades with her using her brailled
cards, and studying my hand to see what suit to lead
with, I decided and went to lay it down only to shriek
with unfeigned dismay to see an eyeball laying
on the table. She cackled with glee and retorted, "I
just wanted to see what you were going to play!"
She was always crocheting something in her customary chair
and they both knew how to stretch a yarn...
Some seasons I miss them worse than others, fall/winter,
I miss them particularly terribly. They didn't have
much money but they had the gift of hospitality
few could equal.

mmmm would lots of hot red pepper (!) and cinammon work too? Wnat would Uncle and Auntie think of that? Love your talent with the photo programs, and your family and their recipes honored!

Love the story of your aunt and uncle and it is so cool to see the way you have connected three generations with some cider and redhots. And now, to give us all a little sip of your creativity... yummy.
