Trust

by Jennifer Lawrence

To breathe again
To be in control of my own mind again
To start again
To take a chance and then
What happens when
My heart is in your hands?
And we are free to plan
The future of what began
When the line formed in the sand
And the step was taken to cause an end
To let the change begin
I have been losing sleep again
So is this all just in my head?
Or could this be a dream I had?
Are my dreams all that I have?
And will I wake to find
It's all a game?
A game of twisted fate I play
In some Mad Hatter's dark Charade
The words you speak are truth you say
But I've been played before this way
And I'm so scared to wake and see
My dreams are all that's left of me

I love how you played with the beat of this poem. And it's content just hits me like a dump truck. Everything I look for in a poem!

these are all good questions, tucked in a good poem and who will answer? but a subsequent poem?
