Gypsy Love

by Jennifer Lawrence

I never knew that love could be
so simple, honest and carefree
well, not carefree, not yet at least
no way to keep out all the worry
for
my gypsy love and me

Wine from the glass;
we drink our fill
yet wine from his lips is sweeter still
and from his gaze I get a thrill
and see the passion that
fulfills
my gypsy love and me

The clock seems frozen
when he's away
But each night turns in to day
too quickly when I come to stay
I wish it didn't work that way
for
my gypsy love and me

He speaks to me of Pilgrim Souls
of Daffodils and Growing Old
Ozymandias on his mighty throne
And though I do not have a home
his arms give shelter from the storm
around
my gypsy love and me

I enjoyed especially the first two lines and that last stanza. Thank you.
