autumn tanka (song of summer)

by Jim Benz

to the wind
rustling in the lilac leaves
I spoke your name
but autumn interrupted
and the sky turned cold

I find this to be beautifully stunning, Jim. I am definately saving this one! Loved it!

Beautifully subtle, the speaking, and the interruption. Love the delicacy of this, in a form (tanka) I have come to love.

This brought me sighs of longing. I keep stepping out hoping for just such song and find only sighs among the boughs. Lovely.

You wrote a Tanka in its true meaning! Very well done as I love the art form of the Ku and Tanka!
