Death On the Streets of Dallas

A certain dignity about him still
No evident signs of violence
Nothing to reply to the questions of why
He looked peaceful in repose
No more struggle to survive
No more soaring through the sky
For this once proud bird
Lying dead on the streets of Dallas

The urban birds have always fascinated me. Survivors tough and persistent, but not immortal. Thanks for the reflection, Joe. |
