naked people

by Charlie Morgan

they surround me; on the way to work,
at work, and when i'm leaving.

i'm not the only one to notice;
'course they're wearing Jourdaches;

and Izod shirts. all to cover-up
their bodies; but underneath all,

we know they're naked. just clothed.
so, who do they think they're fooling?

i am naked too and i do the same.
cover-up so i won't be noticed either.

am i fooling anyone, anyone out there?

Your poem makes me think about how naked we are in our eyes, knowing how you are so good about undressing the observed with your gaze and the care from whence it comes. You nude me and I am looking for the light switch before you notice.
