perhaps they will erect a monument in your name

by Frankie Sanchez

or maybe they won't.

perhaps you will live this life,
you will die,
& you will never be mentioned again.

& maybe that is the most sane thing
any one of us,
could ever ask for;
to be left alone.

perhaps it is enough to imagine, that before we die,
we will have one lightningbolt flashbulb moment,
filled to brim with enlightenment,
chalk full of purpose,
abundant with clarity;

& perhaps that will be enough.

the build up and collapse...the deep breath and crashing, this is a fine little rollercoaster of existence and passion and wonderment. i like it, i love it. this is short for your style, but i think it works in your favor...putting the child to sleep when it is tired, as opposed to forcing it to stay awake until you're ready to put it to bed ya know? you should continue to stretch your style...you can only go up my brotha.

Wow! What a concept. What a moment. You put it in perspective. When I start wondering about the usefulness or importance of my life. I will try to remember the moment you describe and be in it. Thanks.
