Crashing

by Steven Kenworthy

Ahh tem
Ahh tem
Ahh tem

Ta
Ta
Ta

Ta la di
Ta la di
Da
Da
Da
Daaaaaah,

I played you this on my plastic keyboard ever so sloppily and
I could feel you falling in love with me with your ray of lights
I played the keys I held the keys to your velvet heartstrings like a cello
I had the dream inside of you and gave you little choice but to dream of me too.
We ran around in our underwear and laughed out loud at everything

I had your best interests in mind when I thought up this crazy song
I swallowed you into my side and began touching away the ivories
I put together this bizarre electronic melody to put you in my spell
I held a contest and you put all the words together right and perfected the night.
We took turns seeing who could find an inch yet to be kissed

I miss you every second and I’m counting the tenths now too
I hate not holding you tight so I write this buzzing from my chest
I took notes on how we sounded beating together an ultrasound
I can’t explain it to their ears the sheets might be the only ones to understand.
We slept on top of each other stacked like pancakes because that’s the best.

We look amazing stacked like that. You look like an angel on a cloud.
