Cuz I'm done by Alison McKenzieI’m close to leaving
Behind the memories
Stuck in the sludge of them,
Sick of the stench of them,
Tired of offering my heart
Pourin’ it out in the
Parched and summer burned dirt
You don’t care
Or you won’t say
Either way
It’s a bitch I can’t fix
I’m close to leaving
You alone for the duration
Cuz I can’t do this sensation
Of waking up without you anymore
Only to feel the empty space
Of where you’re supposed to be
Next to me
And you can’t see
Or you won’t turn
This way again
Believe me, my friend,
I’ve rhymed for the last time
In your direction.
I’m close to leaving
My heart in the dust
Cuz I’m done.

Posted by Gregory O'Neill on 09/09/09 at 10:27 PM Resolution with attitude! Our daily sun may set each night, but the sun of the heart never disappears. Hope there's a brilliant sunrise waiting you. Nonetheless, a poem well writ. Thanks. |
