Orange Moon by Alison McKenzieLow on the horizon,
Orange moon occupies
More than her fair
Share of night.
Bleeding through the
Opaque sky-fog,
Is this the moon
Who threatened to
Step down to earth,
Submissive in repose -
Or will pride cause it
To rise up and up
To the ends, unraveling?
Equinox sways
On the ‘morrow branch,
Humming a tune of snow,
Frost waiting eager
On the edge of wind.
