LET GO

by James Edwards

while i left, wondering what i had just said
to me it was clear that things are always the way you want them
the reason and the feel of you getting near is all but too blurred
image unclear clear in its inception of the times we were close

and while i write this maybe you do a lil turn in your white bed
with the room heater on the full
while i cough here, maybe you give a lil twitch on your nose
and with slightly open eyes feel that gleam of the night moon

i wake up with a heavy head, a heavier heart
a lick and a supposite kick start
but i languish in all heaviness
while he looks at me with expecting eyes
a glint there, and a moist here
and i move

with my every step your heavy breath puffs out the bellowing smoke
coz while am tired you wake up fresh
the weather is not great here, as it would be where you are
the yellow contrasted with whitey whites
dust particles with snow flakes

but its turning better, chillier and warmer with every breath you take
the sound of which i feel with every walking step
i take, with heavy pounding at my heart
a twist, a turn, a red light
and a shake
a jolt
a past
a green signal...to go..

I hear in this the ebb and flow or relationship - the back and forth from attachment to separation - but the subject totally tuned into the loved one. Thanks for the gentle ride on your swing.
