HALLOweEN

by James Edwards

its like in the old times
when laces were in fashion
of streets filled with pumpkins
and nights with wanton passion

its halloween again
my love
when your force unmasks the rugged face beneath
exposing the tales
of love jagged and unparralled

my hair is unknotted again
coz it smells of yours
it shines in your fingers
as you hold it and pamper it
would i be here by the day break?
i dont know

the street smarts are happy and
run with a candy each
you look around as i watch it
you have hopes and desires
and am just a bird
with a trembling heart beat

the scar i caress
with a glint in my eye
with a drop in yours
with a tear on my cheek
with the flimsy air between you and me

in between the sheets
our bodies talk
we just lie and look
the touch is one i have never felt
like when you run a feather on your skin

i fear it
but its your grasp that holds my breath
i cant breathe as you fill me with yours
i cant break free because of a part of me wants it
a part apart

the falling leaves shimmer through the
moonlit faces
if there is a world
free from it all
it lies it hate it disgrace and it malice

it is the world i have forged
for you
and me
on this halloween

this poem is wonderfully and delicately wroth and tender and beating as the avian heart.
